About My Daycare I believe it is the adults responsibility to have a safe environment for a child to explore, play, and interact to become independent. I have child proof my house so I don't have to constantly say "no" about everything which has been linked with tantrums in small children. That doesn't mean however that I don't direct children to make the "right" choices. Occassionally discipline is necessary in which I simply give time outs. In toddlers most of the time they become over stimulated or have tantrums because they are hungry, tired, bored, or overwhelmed with activities. I keep a schedule so children are aware of what is expected during the day. It teaches the toddlers transition for preschool and keeps older children active. For example of activities I have storytime, free play time, art and crafts, dancing and singing, rest/nap time, organized playtime such as puppets or acting. I also teach American Sign Language. I would like to be able to take the children to the zoo, omni plex, or parks with your permission of course. Though I live in Newalla/Moore area, we have OKC emergency services. One final thing about us, is we are a Christian family. I understand that public schools eliminate any type of religious values to their program. I just want to say that I don't force my religion on anyone and I respect your values however I do not eliminate my practices from my life with my children. We say a prayer before meals, we sing songs, watch cartoons, etc but your child will not be pressured to participate or be ignored. The videos, books, and music are not all Christian based. I just like to mention that we have these things in addition to High School Musical, Baby Einstein, and Blue's Clues etc. Please feel free to speak openly about those things and we will do whatever we can to make everyone comfortable. | | |
